The Dog Days of Summer

Happy July Sports Fans.

Can you believe we are less than 60 days from kickoff of the 2011 season?  On Thursday Sept 1, you will get to see if the Badgers can overcome their Non-AQ slump against UNLV and then on Friday the 2nd, you've got Baylor versus the Horned Frogs.  Can't wait!!!  But while you are, here are a couple good reads for you.

Gregg Doyel does a spot on take on why College Football blows away the NFL hands down.  No player is bigger than the game.  http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/story/15274851/college-football-is-better-than-nfl-and-its-not-even-close

And what is it with receivers taking off to do something else.  You've got Easterling from FSU leaving to go play baseball.  http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/football/ncaa/07/01/florida-state-easterling.ap/index.html?sct=cf_t2_a6   And then you have the shorthorns Marquise Goodwin going to work on his track meet skills.  The hits just keep on coming for the horns and it's a sign to me that the slump down there hasn't turned the corner.

Next up on the posting agenda, "The reasons I am going to miss the Huskers."
