Home of the Sooners!!!!!!!

Hey Sooner fans,

Want to share this article from Rick, FSU Class of '82.  Way to make us proud last weekend and he doesn't even mention us defacing the national anthem.  Great job representing our great state and team.  Keep it up with my brothers in arms and their fans tomorrow.  “Welcome to Norman, we’re glad you’re here!  Would you like something to eat, how about something to drink or maybe a beer? You Seminoles sure travel well, thanks for coming!”

A little on the "Home of the Sooners" controversy from OUinsider and Berry Tramel.  Btw as a Marine veteran, I couldn't care less whether you say Home of the Sooners, Brave or whatever.

I sent it to Tramel yesterday.

His reply:

Thanks for writing. First of all, what a great word, "nontroversy." Never heard it. I will use it somewhere down the road. Great stuff.
Greed trumping patriotism? Great question. Does OU still sell this print at the bookstore? Someone told me it's still available.
The answer to your last question is no.

Dear Mr. Tramel:

I cannot help but be bemused by the entire nontroversy surrounding the "home of the brave" v. the "home of the Sooners."

Especially in light of the fact the University of Oklahoma licenses and makes money off this print.

So does greed trump patriotism for OU? Or is this brouhaha merely a creation of local media driven by the need of a story after a ho-hum 30 point win?

Sincerely,
SoonerPride
