Payback Time for Sooner Fans, Bob Stoops writing checks
This post could be circulated more than Bill Gates writing checks for you to forward an email.
I'm sure all of us have thought after paying to make some bowl trip or road trip to watch the Sooners (insert your favorite team) get humiliated and not represent you that you should just send the University or better yet the coach an invoice asking for a refund.
I'd like to point out this die hard Oregon Ducks fan who did just that after his beloved Ducks laid an egg on the Smurf Turf. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4496615. What is even more remarkable is Chip Kelly paid it. So here I am ringing up my tab to send to the guy formerly known as Big Game Bob but now recognized as Big Choke Bob.
January 2004, Sugar Bowl, aka Give Kejuan the Rock Bowl - $3,500
After successfully running the ball for an entire 3 quarters, Kevin Wilson decides to do something completely different and has Jason White try to pass our way to success. Only problem is that Jason over throws every route and the Tiger Bait fest is on with the White Trash of New Orleans.
January 2005, Orange Bowl, aka Did my Jr high team impersonate the Sooners Bowl - $4,700
Big choke Bob was officially worn out by Pete Carrol in this game. OU was completely out coached, out prepared and out executed.
January 2007, Fiesta Bowl, Forever to be known as the Statue of Liberty Play Bowl - $3,200
Only my beloved Sooners could end up being the punch line for eternity and lose on a play that we've all run in the sand lot 1,000 times. Seriously, I was 20 rows up on the 40 and saw it coming. Couldn't believe the ballsy call. Oh and add another $500 to that for me leaving so irritated that I left my satellite dish pointing the wrong way and ripped it off of the roof.
January 2008, Didn't go. Knew we would choke. $50 - for new shirt to wear during game
January 2009, Orange Bowl, aka the Gator Bait Bowl or the Phil "the drive killer" Loadholt Bowl - $3,500
The greatest show on turf and Heisman winner lay a huge egg in this one while Tebow and the home team live it up. Miami Dade Sheriffs department empties the RV lot at 4am. http://firebobbyjack.com/2009/01/12/bowl-game-recap.aspx
I'll be sending my invoice for $16,900 Bob. I'll take cash or check. At least I still have my motorhome.
