What are you looking at? November 8th

If things keep going the way they are it looks like it will be a Ball and Penn BCS Championship.  Here we go with this week's line up.   The Horned Frogs beat themselves so strike up the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

11:00 #20 Georgia Tech at #18 North Carolina
This one is a battle for ACC Coastal bragging rights.  Tech is in the drivers seat for the division championship if they win out.  NC can start driving if they win this one.  Tech will be able to grind the game out with their 8th ranked rushing offense.  Georgia tech will be in the backfield all day with their #1 tackles for loss D line.  This is a good test for an over ranked and over matched NC team.

North Carolina is giving 4 points.  I'd take Tech and the points.

11:00  #11 Ohio State at #24 Northwestern
What do you say?  Who cares it's the Big 10?  Anyway Ohio State is coming in off of a bye week and after Pryor dropped the ball against Penn State.  Ohio State has a mediocre rushing game (43), horrible passing game and a solid defense (rushing-14, pass eff -8, scoring -8 and total - 8).  On the other side of the ball Northwestern tops out with a #22 scoring D and middle of the road everything else.  I think Beanie gets untracked and wins a big one in the little 11.

Northwestern is getting 11 at home.  I'd take Ohio State and give the points.

2:30 #1 Alabama at #16 LSU
Homecomings are always special.  This one is even more special because some of the players that Nick Satan recruited might still be at LSU working on their phys ed degree if they aren't in prison.  LSU needs to do a better job of scheduling.  This should be a night game and would probably be a different outcome.  Bama has a good rushing offense(18) and horrible passing (102).  Tigers are mediocre at both ( 29 and 58).  The Tide will test LSU's #17 rushing defense, while the Tide's #2 rushing D will shut down the Tigers and make them 1 dimensional.  Death Valley is not nearly as intimidating in the daylight.

LSU is getting 3 at home.  Take Bama and give the points.  This is a 10 point spread imo.

2:30 #6 Oklahoma at Texas A&M
What do you get when you cross the 3rd ranked passing offense with the 102 ranked scoring defense?  77-0.  This really won't be 77-0 and I was impressed with what I saw out of A&M against TT.  A&M is going to struggle controlling the ball with their 102 ranked rushing O against OU's mediocre rushing D (35).  The up side for the Sooners is that they don't have to throw all day versus A&M's 104th ranked rushing D.

Stoops is going for BCS style points.  Texas A&M is getting 25 at home.  I'm taking the Thooners to cover.

7:00 #9 Oklahoma State at #2 Texas Tech
Passing O versus Passing D - Tech wins (1 vs 45)
Rushing O versus Rushing D - OSU wins (5 vs 10)
Field Position - OSU wins
Turnover Margin - Tech wins
QB Pressure - Tech wins

OSU is getting 3.5 on the road.  My money goes on Tech giving the points.  Remember though, this ain't your dad's choke pokes.

When traveling to Lubbock for the game, I like to visit ..Meagan.
