With the core of both sides of the ball coming back, how can you count these guys out of the Big 12 Championship? Not So Fast.
Ladies and Gents, I give you......
The Missouri Tigers
2007 Season: 12-2, 7-1 Conf
2008 Season: 9-3, 5-3 Conf
Highlights: Booger Daniel, Maclin, Jimmy Jackson, Chase Coffman and on the D side Sulak, Hood, Weatherspoon and Alexander are all back and it’s crazy. The other thing is that they are hungry and they have a powder puff 4-0 schedule right out of the gate.
Lowlights: The only thing they really needed improvement in was their field position from the punt game and pass defense. I’m not encouraged that they did anything in either of those respects that could make a difference. They were also pretty weak in getting pressure on the other teams’ QBs. Don’t hold your breath for that to change.
Keys to Success: Some lucky bounces could make the season for the Tigers, otherwise I’m thinking Poulan weedeater bowl. That week off before Nebraska is the difference in that game
