Breaking Down the Big 12 - Kansas Jayhawks

35 days until kickoff.

For those of you who don't "know" College Football, here is a quick primer on how to take a team from worst to ......well at least playing in January.

# 1 in the nation in turnover margin
#7 in the nation in kickoff returns
# 12 in the nation in total defense

Ladies and Gents, I give you......

The Kansas Jayhawks

2007 Season:
12-1, 7-1 Conf

2008 Season: 7-5, 4-4

Highlights: For the record Jayhawk fans, don't think this year will be as good as last year.  Your schedule is not nearly as favorable.  You are playing Oklahoma and Texas, unlike last year.  You over came horrible punting and subsequent field position.  Linebacking and Offense were awesome and I expect the same this year.

Lowlights:  Punts, punt returns and sacks.  One word....ick!

Keys to Success:
Be consistent.  Do all of the things right from last year and fix your putrid punting and punt return game.

The Games:
Aug. 30 Florida Int'l - W
Sept. 6 Louisiana Tech  - W
Sept. 12 at South Florida - L
Sept. 20 Sam Houston St - W
Oct. 4 at Iowa State - W
Oct. 11 Colorado  - L
Oct. 18 at Oklahoma - L
Oct. 25 Texas Tech - W
Nov. 1 Kansas State - W
Nov. 8 at Nebraska - L
Nov. 15 Texas  - L
Nov. 29 Missouri - W

Well Jayhawks, I loved your cinderella season last year, but it is what it is. Good news is, basketball season starts in November.
